Abstract(EN): The author claims that the gap left in the political spectrum by the collapse of communism has been filled with the most convenient replacemen t ideology - nationalism. Since radical nationalism and extremist rights are realities of Europe's new order, they must be understood in order to be checked. While all of the far right movements in Eastern Europe are nationalist in character, not all nationalisms are right wing. The book addresses the overlap between ‘nationalism' and the political ‘right' by taking a closer look at right wing nationalist movements in five countries: Germany, Poland, Hungary, Romania and the Czech Republic.
