Abstract: (ENG) Citizenship and National Identity in Romania
The study shows the changes of the national politics in Romania during some different historical times. After the theoretical leads up the author comes to the point of formulating the doctrines, then he analyses the regulations during 1866 -1919, between the two World Wars and under the communist era. The author also mentions the discriminations of the Jews, the integration of
Dobrugea and Transylvania as well as the women’ s rights to the citizenship. At the end of the study, he analyses the present - day situation mentioning the easy access to the citizenship for the ethnic Romanians living in Moldavia. He relates the issue of the Romanian citizenship to the country’s development and national doctrine. In this sense, the regulation of the Romanian nationality simultaneously asserts the principles of ‘ius soli’ and ‘ius sanguini’ stressing upon the latter. In one respect the study shows the above principles that are analysed in a typical political context.
