Abstract(EN): An analysis is made of the ethnic dispute sparked up in Romanian province of Bucovina by alteration of the ethnic identities of the Polish and Slovakians inhabitants of the area. This latter idea occurred as a result of the Poland and Czechoslovakia efforts to secure strategic advantages in Central Europe and to became main geopolitical regional actor. Just in all Interwar period, Romanian local and central authoriries considered as Polish all Catholic inhabitants from Spis and Orava regions settled from XVIII century in Bucovina. Even before the loss of North of province, in June 1940 - and after Poland's partition, in September 1939, and emergence of Slovak Republic, in March 1939 - a radical turn could be noted in the attitude of the Romanian authorities towards this ethnic controversy. The change of political regime in Romania marked a rapprochment between Bucharest and Bratislava. Antonescu regime (1940- 1944) did not quiestion the Slovakian character of the communes in Bucovina and offered political backup to the Slovakians in this ethnic dispute.
