(RO) Au trecut mai mult de 75 de ani de la deportarea evreilor din Ungaria şi dinTransilvania de Nord.După revenirea în ţară, supravieţuitorii s-au confruntat cu o serie de pro-bleme. În primul rând, au fost nevoiţi să accepte că majoritatea rudelor lor dis-păruseră. Cu o situaţie materială precară, lipsiţi de avere şi de un loc de muncă,cu sănătatea şubrezită în anii de deportare, cu traume împovărătoare, cu pro-bleme identitare, ei aveau să înfrunte nu doar provocările unui nou început, cişi un nou val de manifestări antisemite.Identitatea multor victime a rămas necunoscută, şi până recent nu se ştiaumulte amănunte nici cu privire la identitatea supravieţuitorilor, dată fiindlipsa documentelor care să acopere întregul areal. Deşi există liste cu numelevictimelor publicate în diferite volume memoriale (yizkor books) care prezintătragedia populaţiei evreieşti dintr-o localitate dată, aceste liste sunt de regulăincomplete. Iar majoritatea volumelor memoriale nu publică lista supravieţu-itorilor. În acest sens putem afirma că nu doar victimele, ci şi supravieţuitoriirămân fără destin. În cadrul stagiului de cercetare efectuat în 2014 la ArolsenArchives – International Center on Nazi Persecution am identificat un materialcompus din două părţi, ce conţine nume şi date personale despre evreii din Transilvania de Nord care au supravieţuit deportărilor şi s-au întors în Tran silvania în anii 1945-1946. Sper că publicarea celor aproape 20.000 de nume împreună cu datele aferente va contribui nu numai la studiul Holocaustului, cişi la creionarea unui destin, dacă nu pentru victime, măcar pentru cei rămaşi în viaţă.

(EN) More than seventy-five years have passed since the deportation of Jews from Hungary and Northern Transylvania in 1944. The survivors who have re-turned to their homeland which in meantime passed under Romanian controll tried to rebuild their lives, facing a number of problems. They had to accept that most of their relatives had disappeared. With a precarious financial situation, deprived of wealth and a job, with weakened health and with burdensome traumas, with identity problems, they faced not only the challenges of a new beginning, but also a new wave of anti-Semite manifestations. The identities of many victims remained unknown, and until recently not many details were known about the identity of the survivors either, given thelack of documents covering the entire area. Although there are lists of victims’ names published in various memorial volumes (yizkor books ) that present thetragedy of the local Jewish population, these lists are usually incomplete. The memorial volumes do not publish lists of survivors. In this sense, we can say that not only the victims, but also the survivors remain fateless. During a re-search at Arolsen Archives – International Center on Nazi Persecution in 2014I have identified a two-part material containing names and personal data of Jews from Northern Transylvania who have survived deportations and re-turned to Transylvania in 1945 and 1946. I hope that the publication of the nearly 20,000 names together with the related data will contribute not only to the study of the Holocaust, but also to the drawing of a fate, if not for the victims, at least for those who survived
