Wilhelm Staedel was one of the leading figures of the youth ministry of the evangelical church of the Transylvanian Saxons in the interwar period. As sympathizer of National Socialism, he soon came into conflict with bishop Viktor Glondys who resisted the influence of National Socialism inside the church.
