Abstract: (En) Historian Jean Ancel‟s personality is remembered in an assessment of his biography and work, which focused on the historiography of the Holocaust as well as on the Jewish community of Romania. This survey places his book, The Economic Destruction of the Romanian Jewry (Jerusalem, Yad Vashem, 2007) in the context of his general historical work.
