Abstract: Problem statement:
Roma and disadvantaged children and mothers are less likely to receive support; there are higher levels of infant mortality and more child absence from preschools, accidents and illness. Many of the problems are related to the adverse environmental conditions in which families have to live, the difficulties they have in accessing services and receiving up-to-date advice and information and the racism and discrimination they experience. Children do not always start preschool at the age 3 or 4.
Goal/purpose:
It supported nearly 4,000 Roma and non-Roma children ages zero to seven to access early childhood education and care (ECEC) services in 16 locations in four countries.
