Abstract: (En) The ever-rising interest in the memory of the Holocaust is indicated by a number of recent developments, including new historiographic debates on the Holocaust (which often include more fields than the strictly historical one), the omnipresence of commemorative ceremonies in the current public arena, the scale of initiatives for the creation of museums, and the guidance of the historical work towards the critical assessment of the dynamics entailed by such events. Nevertheless, the memory of the Holocaust in Romania is far from having a linear development. Focusing on the interpretation of several types of sources - memoirs, diaries, media, archival documents - this survey assesses the means by which the memory of the Holocaust in Romania developed immediately after the Second World War (1944-1947). On one hand, the author focuses on the main discursive representations of this traumatic event. On the other hand, she identifies the means by which those social practices, which contribute to its inclusion into the collective memory, are implemented.
