Abstract: (En) The article provides an X-ray of Romanian society during the 19th and early 20th century, when the economic and business activities were beginning to take a definite shape. In spite of the historical events of the time, the emergence of an authentic economic life was connected to the presence of the Jewish population in the Romanian Principalities. Even though its beginnings were hindered by the reaction of the authorities, the true establishment of a Romanian banking system took place between 1865 and 1918. The paper pursues the evolution of one of the most representatives participants in this process: Marmorosch Blank @ Co Bank.
