Abstract: (En) This article assesses the context and impact of the devastation to the Coral Temple in Bucharest on the eve of the Jewish New Year (September 20, 1963), one of several similar events of the period. Various sources are used in the reconstruction of this event: the prosecutor‟s office investigation, the photos taken during the reconstruction, and the information notes and other surveillance documents drafted by the State Security Agency. The article discusses anti-Semitism under the communist regime and uses documents to reconstruct the climate within the Romanian Jewish community and the problems they faced by state-controlled emigrations in the 1960s.
