Abstract: (En) The present study focuses on several issues concerning the development of the Zionist movement in Romanian context: the founding of the first societies in the late XIX-th century,
militating for emigration to Palestine and founding agricultural colonies; the joining of the Zionist movement to the political Zionism ideals based on Th. Herzl's theories; the cultural and
educative activity meant to shape a national Jewish consciousness; the relationship between Zionism and culture; the turning in the Zionist movement's life at the end of the World War I, when the founding of the national home - related to the crash of the great empires and the rise of the nationalities' principle - becomes a historical fact.
