Abstract: (En) The study attempts to describe the influence that ethnic identity had over biographical trajectory and political options of some Romanian Jews in the second third of the 20th century, and more precisely, it deals with their somewhat special attraction towards communist ideology. This situation is explained by the impact that anti-Semitic measures, taken mostly by Antonescu regime, had upon the lives of all the Jews in Romania. As a result, some of them initially favoured Communism, specially because of its promise to ignore ethnic identity. Taking into account personal testimonies, the study offers an inside perspective into the psychological mechanisms of these decisions.
