Abstract: (En) My brief paper is dedicated to enthronement of Bishop Stefano Stefanowicz Roszka (1670-1738) (henceforward abbreviated as Roszka) on basis of sources kept in the Sacra Congregatio de Propaganda Fide's Historical Archive, Rome. His personality is, however, not unknown to the scholarship. As an Armenian-Uniate theologian, he had devoted years to reform the Armenian Uniate Church in Poland and visit the Armenian unite parishes in Italy, Poland and Transilvania. At the same time, he composed the Chronology of Armenian Uniate Church at the first half of the 18th century, which was regarded as the most talented sources upon the Armenian Catholic Renewal. Roszka was appointed as a coadjutor bishop by the Holy See in 1710 in order to help administrate the Armenian Uniate archbishopric office, in Lemberg, in matter of the worsening health condition of Archbishop Vardan Hunanean (1654-1715). His appointment as a Bishop met with difficulties. The secular represents of the Armenian community in £wów had the intention of electing own their candidate for this co-adjutor episcopacy because they insisted upon their ancient privilege called jus eligendi given by the Polish kings, which ensured the Armenian community in Poland to elect free their prelates. This paper, in fact, aims at enlightening the internal and external circumstances of these ecclesiastical problems on strength of newly-found manuscript sources in the Holy See.
