Synopsis: (HUN) A film a szászvárosi beás roma közösségben végzett antropológiai kutatás keretében készült az International Policy Fellowship Program, az Open Society Institute támogatásával. Női narratívákon keresztül a nők helyzete, a házasság, a gyerekszülés, az abortusz, a fogamzásgátlás, a családon belüli erőszak, valamint a prostitúció problémáit jeleníti meg. Ezeket a jelenségeket a nézők a roma nőknek a saját közösségükben, valamint az intézményes rasszizmus különféle megnyilvánulásaival szemben megélt tapasztalatai révén érthetik meg, miközben megfigyelhetik azt a szakadékot és kommunikáció hiányt is, amely e nők perspektívái és azok szempontja között létezik, akikkel mindennapi életük során különféle helyzetekben konfrontálódnak. A film azokat a stratégiákat is beazonosítja, amelyek révén a roma nők kezelni tudják a többszörösen hátrányos helyzetüket és felépítik saját világukat, többek között a társadalmi kirekesztésre és marginalizációra válaszolva. Főként egy olyan teret próbál létrehozni, amelyben kifejezhetik számos - tágabb környezetében tekintett - intim problémával kapcsolatos vágyaikat, érzéseiket, gondolataikat és érdekeiket. A film ugyanakkor egy poszt-szocialista város valóságait reprezentálja úgy, ahogyan azt a társadalmi alanyok megtapasztalják, miközben erejük van ahhoz, hogy az ironikus beszédmód eszköztárával (ön)elemzést végezzenek és ennek révén távolságot vegyenek fel azzal a helyzettel szemben, amelybe a társadalmi rend pozícionálja őket.
(EN) The film (55 minutes) was made in 2006 in the framework of an anthropological research conducted within a (Boyash) Roma community from the a city from Southern Transylvania, Romania with the support of the International Policy Fellowship Program of the Open Society Institute. It addresses issues related to women's status, marriage, birth, abortion, contraceptives, domestic violence and prostitution through womenâs narratives. The spectators may understand these phenomena through the experiences lived by Romani women within their own community, but as well as in the front of the instances of an institutional racism. They may also observe the gap (and the lack of communication) between their perspectives and the point of views of those whom they confront with in the different situations of everyday life. At the same time the film identifies the strategies by which these women handle their multiple discriminations and construct their own world among others as a reaction to social exclusion and marginalization. It mainly aims to create a space to Romani women, in which they may articulate their desires, feelings, thoughts and interests linked to intimate issues, seen in their broader context. Simultaneously it represents the realities of a de-industrialized city, as they are experienced by social actors who are having the strength to (self) analyze through an ironic discourse whose ingredients allow them to take a distance from the condition within which they are placed by the forces of the social regime.
