    The Department of Geography and Regional Research of the University of Vienna organizes a Migration Round Table on the topic of "International Migration in South-East Europe: Trends, Data, Policies" on Thursday, 11 September 2014. The one-day conference will look into longer-term migration processes in the region and analyze challenges related to data collection on international migration. Results of a foresight activity carried out by the SEEMIG partnership will give insight into possible future migration scenarios in eight South-East European countries. Subsequently, experts will discuss conclusions for policy-making and possible courses of action from destination countries and countries of origin in the framework of a panel discussion on "International Migration in South-East Europe - from one-sided to comprehensive migration management".     The "Final Event" of the SEEMIG project will take place in Budapest, 20-22 October 2014. The second day is dedicated to an international conference open to the general public.The conference will touch upon the following topics: A brief introduction to SEEMIG; SEEMIG ON ACADEMIC LEVEL(European demographic situation, Longer term historical trends in migration, Surveying emigrants - lessons learnt from the SEEMIG pilot study, Improving transnational migratory data production systems); SEEMIG ON TRANSNATIONAL LEVEL (Roundtable discussion on policy recommendations); POSSIBILITIES OF TRANSNATIONAL COOPERATION (Roundtable discussions for the delegates of Statistical Offices in the region); SEEMIG ON LOCAL LEVEL (Case studies and roundtable discussion).
